4/7/2023: Rally For Sexual & Reproductive Heathcare

It’s wonderful to see this show of support because — honestly — we’re all SO tired. We have spent weeks and months listening to infuriating and inaccurate rhetoric from members of this legislature about abortion providers, people who get abortions, and transgender people. We have stayed up late and woken up early, fighting bill after horrible bill, on short notice, and in the face of the worst kind of vitriol.

I’ve heard a lot of misinformation in the last two weeks, so I want us all to be very clear on this point. Most of you here probably know this already. Abortions are GOOD. They are moral, safe, liberating, and empowering. There is so much deep joy and care in the work that we do at Blue Mountain Clinic. Our patients are wrapped in love from the minute they walk into the office, and supported throughout the entire process, no matter how easy or hard their decision has been. Even on a challenging day, I am carried forward by the relief and gratitude that patients express when they leave the clinic.

I also care for transgender teens and adults. It is one of the greatest privileges of my career. My young transgender patients impress me every day. They are some of the most insightful and courageous people that I know. There is…
