The atonements for my Soulmate — A love poem

For all the flowers of the world,

if they were to blossom all at once,

your beauty would still outshine each and every one of them.

Whenever I am to close my eyes, I always remanence your gentle touch,

your smooth hands caressing my lips, oh I surely miss you much.

For every other man who lays their eyes upon you; you’re simply a beautiful woman.

But once our eyes connected and you gave me a humble smile,

I already pictured you walking in all white down the wedding aisle.

You see my love, actions speak louder than words, so I’ve heard,

but that surely depends on the depth of the spoken and written word.

With this humble poem I hope you shall never forget,

all of our happy, awkward, angry and lovable moments,

in such case let this poem of love be my sincerely atonement.

I will atone for not having enough time with you,

I will atone for not being able to give you the entire world,

I will atone for not being able to reach for the stars and make them fall on your lap,

But most of all: I will atone that I didn’t meet you earlier,

So that we could have more time together before our dying breaths.

But I guess, if I have to be honest,

Not all the time in the universe would ever come close to be enough.

How could it, when you are lucky enough to find your soulmate.
