Eternal Gratitude: A Ode to the Unfathomable Love of Parents

Whenever I see my mother’s tears, a piece of my heart disappears,

But whenever I look deeply into my fathers eyes, my will to live reappears.

The weight from their shoulders I’d gladly take upon mine,

I will forever stand in their shadows, in order to make them shine.

They gave up everything to give me a better life,

Even though it meant for them to bleed slowly, tortured slowly with a dull knife.

So, I don’t have the right to complain about my trials and tribulations,

When I have to take away their pain and redeem their reputations.

So, let this be a love letter for my mom and dad,

For giving up everything in life in order to give me everything they never had.

I intimately mean every single word when I say: I. Love. You.

And thank you for giving me the foundation to look at life from a different view.

You mean the world to me mom and dad.
