Every other week, hosts an AMA with 0Chain’s Operations Director, Derick Fiebiger, to address questions from the community. Without further delay, let’s dive into this weeks address:

Greeting

• Welcome to AskFeebs — a weekly address where your questions on crypto and 0Chain are answered. I’m Derick Fiebiger, Director of Operations for 0Chain, and I thank you for joining me. Let’s hop into things.

0Chain Highlights

Alphanet progress:

• Released new whitepaper. You can .
  Adds details about
  — Payments for blobbers
  — Token aspects
  — Giving away 15 million team tokens for developers, miners and ambassadors over a four year period.
• Inflation mechanism changes:
  — We already have low inflation at 10–12% per year
  — Wanted to keep it even lower by rewarding early contributors
  — Instead of minting tokens, it will be a smart contract taken out from a pool of team tokens.
  — First four years no inflation from block rewards
  — For newly minted tokens: interest 10% first year, 7.5% second year, 5% stabilizing. This is a substantial reduction in inflation since we were previously looking at 10% plus block rewards.

Messaging and Marketing Videos

• New marketing videos:
  — What is ZCN all about? () Communicating the value of ZCN which is tied to interest and data
  — No other token offers the services we can provide
  — How you can make money as an MSP ()
• Core focus for LLC currently: Sign up MSPs with master level agreement
  — These companies will have to buy and stake ZCN to utilize idle storage to run a blobber.
  — MSP: IT personnel/companies with 2 employees-500 employees that cater to over 400 million small businesses. They accommodate companies that need IT personal
  — A lot of interest, just a matter of locking in agreement
  — Value added resellers and value added distributers are the big dogs who we will chase after we sign up MSPs. Ingram micro for instance, tech data, cynex value added distributors

0Wallet & other app updates

• 0Wallet is available on iOS in the . Not on TestFlight anymore
• 0Box is next
• 0Wallet on android soon

Betanet info:

• Target is to hopefully have it around 2 weeks from now.
• Get miners in as soon as possible
  — Then payments feature added in
  — Start a countdown like we did with alphanet

Hackathon and Bugathon?

• Added a few things on . Updated with new ideas for apps:
  — Focus on interface to different blockchains (hyperledger, Ethereum)
  — SDK different versions
• We have a flow that people can look at and use it for:
  — Any sensitive documents that you are using between more than two parties (multi-party)
  — For example: A doctor sees you as a patient, writes a claim to an insurer writes a different claim to patient and this is an example of fraud
  — dStorage can be a solution to make sure the same document is used to prevent fraud
  —Using cryptographically secured data storage & smart contracts. Prevents fraudulent claims and is a real world use-case

Mainnet info:

• Currently, code is open review due to patent from 0Chain LLC
• Saswata is working on licenses for open source

Questions:

1. Will there be an article about how 0Chain/0box compares to others? Like sia and storj
   — Saswata wants this to be up for the community to participate with. Reward out for community. Although @sculptex (on telegram) has already began this.
   — Not trying to compare ourselves to others in crypto because there is not anything else out there that is enterprise-grade ready like us.
   — There isn’t anything enterprise grade out there so our focus is being directed at actual enterprise adoption and comparing ourselves to existing cloud competitors. We are fast, more-secure, and we should be compared against them and not other blockchain projects that can’t even compare.

2. External miners are waiting… when will they join?
   — Keep posted for a countdown
3. Any updates on partnerships
   — MSPs core focus. We are looking to sign actual agreements at the moment to utilize our services.
4. When can we expect beta and mainnet?
   — Three weeks beta
   — Month or so after beta for mainnet launch
5. ETA on 0box in App Store?
   — Hopefully in a week or so. already for iOS.
